Because a good share of the local audience works shifts rather than a standard week. When days off fall on a Sunday and Monday, a Monday night out is normal rather than unusual, and the room is genuinely available. We would look at your own sales by day of week before recommending a night, but early week is more often the answer here than anywhere else we cover.

Do we need a summer plan like New Smyrna Beach venues do?

No, and that is one of the real advantages of being here. Edgewater’s audience is resident rather than seasonal, so the same weekly runs through July and January with the same format. You get a flatter year with fewer spikes and no dead months to plan around.

Can you combine an Edgewater booking with a New Smyrna Beach one?

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to staff a smaller Edgewater room. The two are about ten minutes apart, so one host can cover a New Smyrna room and an Edgewater room in the same week with almost no additional travel, which keeps the per-night cost down for both.

Edgewater sits on US-1 between New Smyrna Beach and Oak Hill, facing the Indian River, and it is a working city rather than a beach town. Boat manufacturing is a significant local employer, and that matters more to an event schedule than it sounds: a shift-work audience is available on nights that a salaried audience is not, and unavailable on some that look obvious. Rooms here regularly do better on a Monday or Tuesday than on the Thursday that works two towns north.

The upside of being next door to a beach town without being one is that Edgewater keeps its audience year round. New Smyrna empties out and refills with the seasons; Edgewater does not move much either way. For a venue on US-1 or along Riverside Drive, that means a weekly can be planned as a twelve-month programme rather than something that has to survive a dead season.

About thirty-five minutes from our Daytona Beach base. We run Edgewater as part of the southern coastal route with New Smyrna Beach and Oak Hill, so a booking here is easiest to place on a night that already has a neighbour on it.
