Daytona Beach Shores, Florida

Live event hosting in Daytona Beach Shores.

Four miles of A1A between the ocean and the Halifax, where the resident population is small and the number of people staying in it is not.

Why Daytona Beach Shores venues work with us

Daytona Beach Shores is a narrow strip about four miles long and a few blocks wide, running down A1A with the Atlantic on one side and the Halifax River on the other. Only a few thousand people live here permanently, but the city is lined with condominium towers and hotels, so the number of people sleeping within walking distance of a given restaurant on a summer night is many times its census figure. A venue here is effectively serving a rotating population that changes every week.

That rotation is the planning problem. Standings that carry from week to week, running team names, and inside jokes with regulars are all built on people who will be here next Tuesday, and much of this audience will not be. The formats that work are self-contained, easy to walk into, and reset every night. The exception is the winter, when longer-stay seasonal residents settle in for months at a time and a genuine weekly with regulars becomes possible.

What we know about Daytona Beach Shores

The audience turns over weekly

Condominium and hotel guests make up much of the room in season. A night built on returning teams and cumulative standings is built on people who check out on Saturday.

Winter is when regulars exist

Longer-stay seasonal residents arrive for months rather than days. That is the window where a genuine weekly with familiar faces works, and it is worth running a different format for it.

Everything is on A1A

A four-mile strip between the ocean and the river, with no side streets to speak of. Guests choose by what they can walk to, which puts an unusual weight on street-facing signage.

Getting to Daytona Beach Shores
